Decorating Blogs with Free Halloween Images
As Halloween gets closer, not only do people become more aware of things that go bump in the night, but many put decorations everywhere. For some, that involves machines that pour out smoke, headstones on their front lawns, scary music floating out of speakers and motion-activated figures that jump out when people walk by. For others of us who live our lives on the Web, though, All Hallows Eve decorations take other forms entirely. We decorate our online worlds with downloadable art, such as vintage Halloween cards. This electronic art lets us embellish word processing documents, Web sites, blogs, PowerPoint presentations and much more, which makes our time online that much more entertaining.
For those who make scrapbooks, there are even more uses for the digital images found on the Internet. There are some great collections of Halloween scrapbooking paper and Halloween clipart that are so helpful when scrapbooking. These free images help people create who might not be able to afford it otherwise. Believe it or not, that actually helps all of us, because beauty and creativity enhance the world in general.
It’s pretty amazing to see the other types of projects people make with the free Halloween materials they find on the Web too. I recently ran across some fun altered art projects. These particular projects were made of used vintage childrens books about Halloween that were unbound and rebound, with the addition of blank pages, new images, rhinestones and beads that turned them into journals. I’ve also seen Halloween clip art used in jewelry. What a great use of free resources! Getting those images free really helps jewelry designers who work from home, because they usually don’t charge enough to make a big profit. Getting as many components free as possible is obviously a real bonus.
If you search on the Internet for handmade Halloween crafts, you’re bound to see many more examples than these. They’re probably endless!
